Estimate a parcel from your own account figures
Fill the boxes below with the numbers from your BBDBuy order and press the button. Nothing is sent anywhere: the sum runs in your browser. Use either a weight with a rate per kilo, or the total line price your account shows in the "or total line price" box.
The placeholders in grey (¥417, ¥20, 1.6 kg, €12 per kilo) are an example, not BBDBuy figures. Leave a field empty and the tool will ask for the missing piece. This guide is independent of BBDBuy; the tool is ours and BBDBuy has not reviewed it.
What goes into each box
The calculator mirrors the way BBDBuy describes its costs in the help centre: product cost plus Chinese domestic shipping, then an international leg made of freight, a declaration fee and a warehouse handling fee. The table explains where to find each number.
| Box | What to enter | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| Item prices (¥) | Sum of the prices of everything in the parcel | Your order pages |
| China domestic shipping (¥) | Total of what each seller charges to reach the warehouse | Your order pages |
| Weight and € per kg | Parcel weight times the rate of the line you picked | Your account, once logged in |
| Total line price (€) | Use instead of weight and rate when the account shows a single figure; it wins if both are filled | Your account |
| Declaration fee (¥) | Between ¥10 and ¥30; the box starts at ¥20, the middle | BBDBuy help: service fees |
| Item categories | How many tariff categories the parcel holds | Your own count; see below |
| Yuan per €1 | Starts at 7.4326, the ECB rate of 30 October 2026 | Change it if the rate has moved |
The ¥8 warehouse handling fee is built in and has no box of its own, because BBDBuy publishes it as a fixed amount. The tool adds ¥8 plus your declaration fee and converts the sum to euros. How many categories your basket holds is the least obvious input: items sharing the same tariff sub-heading count as one, so three T-shirts are one category, while a T-shirt, a pair of shoes and a bag are three. The final classification is customs', not yours.
Enter only numbers you can read in your account; the tool cannot fill a gap with a guess.
Why BBDBuy's line prices are not on this page
BBDBuy's shipping estimator redirects to a login page when you open it logged out (checked 1 November 2026). The price of 500 g, 1 kg or 2 kg to Romania, Portugal or Germany is therefore visible only to account holders, and this guide neither shows a table of such prices nor pretends to know them. Several reviewers on Trustpilot mention "about €10 per kilo", but that is what they report, not a BBDBuy rate, and it will not match every line or weight band.
The practical routine is to open your account, enter your destination and weight in the estimator, and copy the rate or the total. Reading how an order flows from link to parcel is covered in the ordering guide, and the review of the reviews explains why final totals sometimes exceed the first estimate. Some buyers prefer not to open an account at all; our separate WhatsApp buying service exists for them.
How the tax is stacked
The tool follows the order in which the charges accumulate on a parcel to the EU, using the rules as read on 1 November 2026.
- Items plus Chinese shipping, converted to euros at your rate.
- The line price, plus BBDBuy's fixed fees: ¥8 handling and your declaration fee.
- EU duty of €3 per item category, only when the converted item value is €150 or less (in force since 1 July 2026).
- EU handling fee of €2 per item category, from 1 November 2026, with no value threshold, on top of the €3.
- VAT at the destination rate, calculated on everything above, including the shipping and the fees.
That last step is where many hand calculations go wrong: import VAT applies from the first euro and is charged on goods, shipping, fixed fees, duty and handling fee together. Platforms, sellers and intermediaries owe the two EU charges and may pass them on at checkout; according to Belgian reporting on the rule, carriers cannot claim them from you afterwards. When the line states that duties and VAT are already paid, tick the prepaid box. The tool then adds nothing for duty, handling fee or VAT, so check that the line description really covers all three.
| Country | VAT |
|---|---|
| Romania (value RO, first in the list) | 21 % |
| Portugal | 23 % |
| Germany | 19 % |
| France | 20 % |
| Belgium | 21 % |
| Italy | 22 % |
The tool adds no national surcharge. France repealed its own small-parcel levy on 1 July 2026, and Italy has postponed a €2 per-shipment contribution to 1 January 2027, so both are consistent with that. For a closer look at Romania, Portugal and Germany, see the shipping page for those countries.
Duty and handling fee are small; VAT on the whole stack is what makes the difference between countries.
A worked example you can reproduce
Type these values in and the tool should print the same lines: Romania, items ¥417, China shipping ¥20, 1.6 kg at €12 per kilo (an example rate, not BBDBuy's), declaration ¥20, 3 categories, ¥7.4326 per euro. The tool rounds every line to cents before adding, so the lines shown add up exactly.
Items + China shipping: 417 + 20 = ¥437 → €58.80
Shipping line: 1.6 × €12 = €19.20
BBDBuy fixed fees: (8 + 20) ÷ 7.4326 = €3.77
EU duty: 3 × €3 = €9.00 · EU handling fee: 3 × €2 = €6.00
VAT base: €96.77 · VAT RO 21 %: €20.32
Estimated total: €117.09
Ticking the prepaid box on the same inputs gives €81.77, the items, the line and the fixed fees alone. With one category instead of three, duty and fee fall to €3 and €2 and the total to €104.99. The same basket costs €119.03 for Portugal and €115.16 for Germany.
| Country | VAT | Estimated total |
|---|---|---|
| Germany | €18.39 | €115.16 |
| France | €19.35 | €116.12 |
| Romania | €20.32 | €117.09 |
| Belgium | €20.32 | €117.09 |
| Italy | €21.29 | €118.06 |
| Portugal | €22.26 | €119.03 |
Across six countries the spread is under €4 on this basket; your line price and your category count move the total further.
Share the result, and know its limits
Each time you press the button the tool writes your inputs into the address bar, so you can copy the page link and send the exact estimate to a friend or keep it in your notes. The "Copy the result" button puts the full breakdown, with the link, on your clipboard. Nothing is stored on our side.
The US is not in the tool. Duty-free treatment for low-value parcels ended in 2025, which means duty can apply from the first dollar, and the EU charges above do not apply to US deliveries. The tool does not compute volumetric weight, normal tariff duty above €150, carrier clearance fees, PayPal fees or BBDBuy's yuan conversion margin, and it cannot know which optional services (bubble wrap, vacuum bag, insurance) you add. Browse the shoe finds or the hoodie finds for a sense of typical weights, or return to the home page.
French customs states that it does not ask private individuals for money by text message or e-mail. Ignore such messages and follow your parcel on the carrier's own tracking page.
Your questions on this
Why does the calculator ask me for the line price?
BBDBuy's own estimator redirects to a login page, checked on 1 November 2026, so no per-kilo rate is public and this page would have to invent one. Log in, choose your destination and parcel weight, copy the line price you are shown, then type it into the calculator. A guessed rate would make every total on this page unreliable.
Does the estimate match what BBDBuy finally charges?
It is an estimate, not a quote. BBDBuy recalculates shipping after packing by weight, volume and destination and refunds or charges the difference, and it applies its own yuan conversion. The calculator uses the ECB rate of 30 October 2026 by default. Expect the result to land near the real figure, then compare it with the amount in your account.
What does the prepaid checkbox do?
Tick it only when the line you chose states that duty and VAT are already included. The calculator then adds no EU duty, no €2 handling fee and no VAT, and shows items, line price and BBDBuy's fixed fees. If the line description is silent on taxes, leave the box empty and treat the extra charges as likely.
What happens when my items are worth more than €150?
The €3 flat duty applies only to parcels worth €150 or less, so the tool drops it and prints a warning that normal tariff duty applies, which it does not calculate. The €2 handling fee and VAT are still added. Check the tariff of each item with customs or your carrier before relying on the total.
Can a US buyer use the calculator?
Not for the tax part. The tool covers six EU countries only. The US has no VAT, and duty-free treatment for low-value parcels ended in 2025, so duty can apply from the first dollar. A US buyer can still use it to add the fixed yuan fees to a line price, but should ignore the EU duty lines.
