BBDBuy in Romania, Portugal and Germany: what each country adds to the parcel, and what the US buyer should check

Re-read on .

Short answer: BBDBuy's help centre does not exclude Romania, Portugal or Germany, but it publishes no line prices: its estimator needs a login (checked 1 November 2026). What differs by country is VAT, 21 % in Romania, 23 % in Portugal and 19 % in Germany, on top of the EU's €3 duty and, since 1 November, a €2 handling fee per item category. US buyers should look for duty-paid lines.

Four countries side by side

BBDBuy applies the same agent fees everywhere; the destination changes the tax, the payment methods you can use and the language of the interface. This independent guide pulls the country-specific pieces together as they stood on 1 November 2026. Line prices per country, such as the cost of 500 g, 1 kg or 2 kg, are not public: BBDBuy's shipping estimator sends you to a login page, so nothing below is a quoted rate.

The three EU markets differ only in VAT; the US differs in the whole regime.

What the EU adds in Romania, Portugal and Germany

For parcels worth €150 or less from non-EU sellers, the EU has charged a flat €3 duty per item category since 1 July 2026. Items with the same tariff sub-heading count as one category. From 1 November 2026 a handling fee of €2 per category also applies under Delegated Regulation (EU) 2026/2152, with no value threshold, and it stacks with the €3. Platforms, sellers and intermediaries owe these amounts and may pass them on at checkout. Import VAT applies from the first euro, and above €150 normal duty rates apply instead.

Unlike France, which repealed its own small-parcel levy, or Italy, which postponed one, nothing in the facts gathered for this guide points to a national add-on in Romania, Portugal or Germany. BBDBuy adds that on routes without a duty-paid or IOSS-type service, customs clearance fees fall to the recipient. French customs states that it does not contact private individuals by text or e-mail to demand payment, so treat such messages as scams and check tracking directly with the carrier.

One parcel, three destinations

The example reuses the three-item basket from the home page: trainers at ¥189, a hoodie at ¥129 and a cap at ¥99, with ¥10 domestic shipping from each of two sellers, 1.6 kg in total, three item categories, ¥28 of BBDBuy fixed fees and an example line rate of €12 per kilo. That rate is a placeholder, not a BBDBuy price. The figures below use the ECB rate of 30 October 2026 (€1 = ¥7.4326).

Goods and Chinese shipping: ¥437 → €58.80

Line: 1.6 kg × €12 = €19.20 (example) · fixed fees ¥28 → €3.77

EU duty 3 × €3 = €9.00 · handling fee 3 × €2 = €6.00

VAT base for every country: €96.77

Romania 21 %: €20.32 → €117.09

Portugal 23 %: €22.26 → €119.03

Germany 19 %: €18.39 → €115.16

The spread between Portugal and Germany is only €3.87 on a parcel of this size, so the line price you are quoted matters more than the country. Replace the example rate with your own and run the numbers in the shipping calculator.

Between these three countries VAT moves the total by a few euros; the line price and the number of categories move it more.

Paying from Romania, Portugal or Germany

The rule here is pay per order. BBDBuy's help centre lists Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Apple Pay, Google Pay, iDEAL, PayU, BLIK, Skrill, Trustly, Bancomat Pay, Bancontact, EPS, Pix and bank transfer, which credits in about three working days. Several are national schemes for other countries: BLIK is Polish, iDEAL Dutch, Bancontact Belgian, EPS Austrian, Bancomat Pay Italian and Pix Brazilian. For a buyer in these three countries the practical options are a card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or Trustly. Klarna shows up in search suggestions but not in the help list, so it is unconfirmed.

PayPal carries an interface notice: its fees were raised, BBDBuy recommends a bank card, and amounts paid in through PayPal must be used immediately. The percentage is not published.

Language: Romanian and Portuguese (Brazil)

BBDBuy's interface is available in English, French, German, Italian, Romanian, Chinese, Spanish and Portuguese (Brazil). Romanian readers get a full interface option, and German readers too. Portuguese readers get the Brazilian variant, which is readable in Portugal but uses some terms differently. The default currency on bbdbuyeu.com is the euro, and others can be selected. Support hours are Monday to Friday 9:00–16:00 and Saturday 10:00–14:00 on China time, closed Sunday. The help centre does not state which languages support staff answer in.

Community help is the other route: BBDBuy links a Discord server from its site, covered on the Discord page.

United States: where the rules differ

The US has no VAT, and the old duty-free treatment for low-value parcels ended in 2025. That makes the line choice more important: look for one that states duties are paid up front, and read its description before authorising shipping. BBDBuy's company details include a Boulder, Colorado address alongside Hong Kong and the United Kingdom, but the goods still ship from China. BBDBuy publishes no US rate card, and this guide gives none. If the line does not prepay duties, the carrier may ask you for them on delivery.

Whichever country you are in, keep the invoice and the QC photos: claims must be filed within 7 days of delivery or 45 days of dispatch, and a parcel held by customs is a case for the carrier and customs letter first. Before your first order, the review explains how the final total tends to differ from estimates.

Looking for items with an idea of weight? The shoe finds and hoodie finds pages group them by category, which also tells you how many EU duty categories a parcel might carry.

Your questions on this

How much does BBDBuy shipping to Romania cost?

BBDBuy does not publish the price of its lines: the estimator redirects to a login page, as checked on 1 November 2026. Some Trustpilot reviewers mention about €10 per kilo, but that is their own experience. The knowable part for Romania is the tax: 21 % VAT plus €3 duty and a €2 fee per item category on parcels worth €150 or less.

Does BBDBuy ship to Portugal, and is it in Portuguese?

The help centre does not exclude Portugal, and Portugal's rates are known: 23 % VAT plus the EU's €3 duty and €2 fee per item category. The interface language is Portuguese (Brazil), not European Portuguese, so some terms such as freight or customs may read differently. Pick your line in the account, where the destination menu shows what is available.

What changes for BBDBuy parcels to Germany?

Germany charges 19 % VAT, the lowest of the three, plus the same EU €3 duty and €2 handling fee for each item category in a parcel worth €150 or less. German is one of BBDBuy's eight interface languages. Line prices are not public, so enter the quote from your own account into the calculator to see the full landed cost.

Are the EU €3 and €2 charges paid by me?

They are due on the parcel, but the law places them on platforms, sellers and intermediaries, who may pass them on at checkout. Carriers cannot claim them from you afterwards, according to Belgian reporting on the rule. Check whether your chosen line states that duties are prepaid. If it does not, you may be asked to pay on delivery.

What should a US buyer check before paying BBDBuy?

Duty-free treatment for low-value parcels ended in 2025, so duty can apply from the first dollar. BBDBuy lists a US address in Boulder, Colorado among its company details, but the parcel still comes from China. Pick a line that says duties are paid up front and read its description. If it does not, keep funds ready for the carrier.
